Principle
of Duality
©
Kabalarian Writings
In
the past four issues of The Newsline, we have been
presenting the Kabalarian concept of life--what is meant
by the Principle of Life and how the Principle can be
understood through a study of the duality of life.
Cause
and Effect
Cause and effect
demonstrate another relationship of opposites, or the
duality of being. We use the terms cause and
effect to explain the motivations of life. Why
does a seed grow? What causes it to grow?
What is the result if it does grow? These terms
help us to illustrate the Principle of
Life in its active expression.
Actions
or events are explained in terms of their cause or the
reason behind them. The young man jumped over the
fence for the reason that there was a pretty girl on the
other side. Or he jumped over the fence because a
bull was chasing him. The reason is explained
through cause--cause and reason are related.
However, reason by itself has a greater power of
potential action, whereas cause has the connotation of
intelligence put into action. It is like potential
energy versus kinetic energy. One is dormant, just
waiting, and the other is actually in motion. The
reservoir behind a dam has a lot of potential energy,
but only as it runs down through the turbines does the
potential energy become kinetic as it drives the rotors
to produce electricity.
Similarly,
reason of being has the potential energy of the vastness
of life that we cannot comprehend. We are always
building bigger telescopes and discovering farther
expanses of the universe, which is all part of the
Principle of Life, part of the duality of being, part of
the positive and negative. These discoveries help
us to understand the greatness of the reason of being.
The
reason of being can be seen in the action of life, the
motion, the movement of all of life, because life is
motion. There is no aspect of life that is not
linked to some form of motion. When there is no
motion, there is only the static position of
potential.
The
Principle of Life contains both the potential and the
reality, and when it becomes the duality of being, i.e.,
life or the finite plane, then it is physical,
measurable, definable, and it has action.
Reason
and reality describe the relationship of the
potential becoming finite by taking upon itself some
action. Thus cause and effect define the part of
reason that incorporates within itself the intelligence
of why.
We
can build an object with four wheels, a motor, and
apparatus to stop and steer, but we must have a reason
to build an automobile. We want to get from A to B
with greater comfort and speed; therefore, we have a
reason for building an automobile and the reason is what causes us
to use our thinking ability to build it.
Reason
has within itself a greater objective than static
expression or just the existence of potential.
Reason incorporates the power of cause, which is the push
that results in an action taking place in the lower part
of duality. The lower part of duality is form, the reality of being, the
aspect of life that is tangible and which is energy in
motion.
Cause
is the catalyst that results in reason changing in
form. Reason works through reality enabled by
cause, which is an aspect of reason that permits reason
to fulfil a greater potential. In other words, we
build an automobile with the potential to move and transport us,
which is a greater quality of intelligence than building
an automobile just to polish and wax it, letting it remain a
static potential. Similarly, life has potential,
but cause makes it alive.
Cause
and effect continued next
month.

Right Way to Health

Happiness in Home Life
is a State of Mind
continued...
If you live with a person
any length of time and have not anything but emotion to
satisfy you, if there is nothing in your mind to
incorporate, if you never study anything and think about
anything, if you never have a refreshing conversation to
discuss or some fresh outlook on life to discuss, the
relationship could not possibly succeed, because no two
people can live in one house and stare at each other
like a couple of zombies day after day, day after day.
If there is no cheerful,
"Hello," or cheerful "Hello, sweetheart", or if
two people do not get up in the morning with that joy of being
together and the joy of a day, the future that lies
ahead of them for the day, the joy of planning things
and doing things together, then they should not be
together. It all stems from the fact that they do
not get together for the joy of giving but for the joy
of getting.
If each person could
attempt to assume his or her own responsibilities for
happiness and congenial association without expectation
from the other, many misunderstandings could vanish like
mist in the morning sun. I firmly believe that
partners do not set a high enough standard of respect
for each other, for most problems are due to lack of
respect for the other's intelligence and no desire to
put forth the effort for understanding. Love,
hate, and respect are all planes of mind or qualities of
thinking that can be changed. Learn to give out
and nature will provide you with the wherewithal.
Change your thinking and change your life.
My concept of the joy of
association is truly to share. Saying, "You
do this and I'll do this and I'm not going to infringe
on you and you're not going to infringe on me," is
like saying, "You go to that side of the garden and
I'll stay on this. You go to that corner and stay
and don't you dare come to the middle of the
lawn." To share is to serve and to serve is
to help the other person. Start to prepare
dinner: do not say, "I'm not going to do
it." In a few days you might be dead and in a
coffin. You will not be able to cook a
dinner. Maybe the person you would not cook for
today may be run over and killed in three days.
Now you wish you had cooked dinner last Saturday.
You would feel like a heel. It is little things
like that. The way to get along is to share your
duties, to find a joy in them and not say, "I can't
do that because that's not my job to do it."
You cannot find happiness in association if you are not
trying to serve. It is all the love of doing and
the love of giving that changes situations.

BERT, ED, LES, LYLE, HENRI, REID, WHYTE, BETTY,
BESS, LOUISE, WYNNE, VIVIEN, INEZ, BERK, CHET, TESS,
MERVIN
Dynamic, energetic,
active, and independent, these people love their
freedom. They have a keen desire to help humanity,
to right the wrongs, and to eliminate repression.
They desire to create something better in life.
They champion the rights of the underprivileged and can
be fiercely loyal. Their causes often include
assisting children and animals, specializing in some
particular field of endeavour. Quick, clever,
versatile, and analytical minds, they find satisfaction
in handling challenges and appreciate when they are
trusted. As long as their independence and sense
of freedom are not curtailed, they can assume great
responsibility. If it is forced upon them, they
rebel. They love to do things on the spur of the moment
and woe to anyone who stands in the way or
interferes. Interference causes them to become
very moody and depressed. That is the reason they
leave home early in life to make their own
way.
They often learn their
lessons through hard knocks and bitter experiences, as
they generally tend to resent advice from others.
They want to experience life in their own way. It
is not easy for these people to merge with others
because of
their extreme independence and because they are very
particular. Others seldom measure up to their
expectations.
They are generous in
assisting the less-fortunate, but many times they suffer
disappointments in people and shattered ideals.
Their naiveté, at times, in assessing others plus their
impulsiveness and daring qualities could cause them to
be drawn into the wrong experiences. When reality
sets in, they suffer devastation and
disappointment. This then leads to cynicism and
intolerance of others. They seldom forget an
injustice!
At times, they are very intuitive
in their assessment of others and experience
premonitions that are often correct. This
attribute combined with their quick minds helps them out
of many a difficult situation. They have a rather
sardonic sense of humour but do not appreciate jokes
being played on themselves. They can be easily and
deeply hurt, as their feelings are extremely
sensitive. Despite their desire for freedom, they
can be overly-possessive and
jealous.
They love the freedom of
the outdoors and pitting their wills against the
elements of nature. Many people with these names
gravitate to active sports as a release for their
intense energy. Being creative they could excel in
music, drama, the arts, or in design. If they believed in the benefits of a
product, they could be excellent promoters and sales
people. Many times they do not finish what they
start as they loathe monotony and being hindered by too
much detail, which cause extreme frustration and
unhappiness. They love change and travel.
Having sensitive
stomachs, these people must watch what they eat.
Their intensity causes suffering through stomach
ailments, throat problems, and nervous disorders.

Questions
1. How
does the Kabalarian Philosophy view reincarnation?
The difference between
the concepts of life of Kabalarians and those who believe in
reincarnation is that the latter have the bad karma or
errors of their past failures upon which to blame their
errors in this life. No matter how many reincarnations a
mind may have passed through, there is only one vital
necessity in any life, and that is wisdom--which must be
found in every life or incarnation. Without wisdom there
is no initiative, spiritual objective, or progress.
One does not automatically advance into a state of
spirituality according to the number of reincarnations.
Why worry about the past? The future depends upon the
present. This life is our own personal incarnation--we
have to make use of it while we are conscious.
Errors and problems can
be solved through the understanding of, and balancing of,
the name to the inner potential, and the degree of
intelligence thus created; and through the understanding
of, and application to, the natural laws governing being,
as well as knowledge of the principle of time into which
each person is born.

Plan
with Confidence
© Kabalarian writings
Time does not force you
to do any specific thing, except to advance in age;
neither can we interfere with or stop time, but we can
and must harmonize our efforts with it, and do the things
relative to it. Would we plant a garden in the
wintertime? No, we realize there is a specific
time in nature when planting is most conducive. To
every thing there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
There is a Universal Intelligence connected to time and
seasons.

Quote of the Month
The greatest word in all
languages is understanding. Learn to think
about life: the part we are intended to play in
the scheme of things. Learn to value the principle
of relationship; i.e., we are all One Life, One Breath,
and One God. Therefore, there is good and God in
all things. Look always for the good and you will
find it along with wisdom.
