Thoughts are Things
Excerpt by © Alfred J. Parker

How strange it is that two people will rush into the state of marriage for the happiness that they never find, only because they expect the other person to provide it.  Happiness lies in one's own thinking.  We see our sweetheart as an angel or the acme of perfection, and then after a year or so of self-satisfaction and there are no longer any new thoughts or desires and life becomes routine, innumerable obstacles arise from nowhere and the worst in each person comes to the surface.

It is the same old problem that in paramount in all of mankind's affairs.  Lack of proper objective and no ideals.  Marriage cannot be based upon physical and mental satisfaction where mind has been centred only upon self.  Anything physical or emotional is only temporal and subject to each person's capacity to enjoy; for instance, one can eat only until satisfied and then food loses its flavour and appeal.

All things, marriage definitely included, must have a specific objective in the same degree that a child studies and works for a final graduation, which is a plane of thinking and completion.  Personal effort and constructive thinking alone will guarantee happiness, provided the objective is happiness and service.

Love the Opportunity of Life
© Kabalarian Writings

So many people are unhappy because they do not love the opportunity of life.  So many people whine and complain; they are just like little children who cannot get their way and, in so doing, they are ruining their lives.  If they could only learn to appreciate this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and find joy in whatever they have to do!

It is so typical of children when you ask them to mow the lawn, do the dishes, hang up their coats, run an errand, or take the garbage out, to whine, whine, whine, unless they have been educated, unless their minds have been reached by the parental guidance to see life from a different, optimistic point of view.  Too often that attitude continues as they grow older, complaining because they do not have a better house, or because the car is a wreck.  There are so many things to find fault with and be unhappy.  Then they become critical of others:  "Look at what they are doing. Look at what they are wearing."  There is always that down-in-mouth criticism, gossip, and destruction of happiness because of a fundamental lack of appreciation of life.

Life is to be loved and as we learn to love life, life becomes a beautiful experience.  When  the leaves are falling, raking leaves can be either a chore that one detests or it can be an opportunity to get out in the fresh air, even if it means rain hat and slicker.  Enjoy the experience of raking the leaves, learning to accept life as we find it because, whatever our life is, it is a result of our thinking.  Whatever experiences we have, we have brought them to us as a result of either our creative process of effort or our passive state of acceptance.  If we fail to steer the car, it will end up either in the ditch or down over the cliff.  If we have not taken hold and steered our lives into the experiences that we desire, then we still have the responsibility of saying it is our own fault.

With the knowledge of name and cycles, breathing and positive thinking, we should be able to create happy lives.  We should be able to create lives of enjoyment and fulfilment.  It does not matter whether we are rich or poor, handsome or ugly, beautiful or plain--or whatever-- those things do not really matter.  What matters is the expression of the spark within.  We all have the same opportunity in mind to discover the Principle and live it.

There is nothing more challenging than dealing with oneself.  When it comes to dealing with moods, irritations, self-discipline, and mental attitudes, it is different.  It takes a more specialized pattern of thinking, a more specific pattern of self-discipline.  It takes a broader concept to bring that development of mind to its fullest potential of expression.

Name Analysis

DWIGHT, MURDO, TIMMY, BILL, SAMUEL, AUSTEN, LAUREN, LAURIEN, WILLOUGHBY, BRIGGS, MAUDE, PHYLIS, BEULLA, LEONORA

These people enjoy working with others in circumstances in which they can organize and direct their efforts, preferably from an executive position. They rely upon their self-expressive qualities to make their way in life. Being philanthropic, they would like to do something of importance in service to humanity.  They have clever, ambitious, discerning minds, and like to specialize in whatever they undertake. They can be shrewd in money matters and since they have expensive tastes, their possessions reflect quality and comfort. They have  generous, cosmopolitan, and somewhat flamboyant personalities and are not people to enjoy too simple a lifestyle.

Because of their big ideas and vision, their desire is to start at the top rather than the bottom of any occupation, and sometimes they try to do too much with limited finances. The monotonous details in any undertaking do not appeal to their visionary, idealistic, imaginative natures. They find it difficult to be patient and persevering, unless other traits in their names offset this tendency. As they are proud and do not want to leave the impression that they are under any difficulty, they always appear to have everything under control, despite any hardships they may be facing at the time. Occasionally, they are generous to a fault but when they realize they have overspent, they watch carefully how dollars are spent at home. They like to leave the impression that everything is under control.

Sometimes their seeming lack of sentimental display in personal affairs creates misunderstandings because they tend to be matter-of-fact in the expression of their deeper feelings. They must learn to be tolerant of the weaknesses of others and to be fair in their judgment, not measuring from their standard of practical thinking but recognizing the needs of others.  They do enjoy home and family life.

Generally, they are good-natured; however, occasionally, they may suffer with feelings of self-pity, particularly if their financial success is limited. They respond to praise and appreciation, but could become over-critical and complaining if they do not receive the recognition from others that they feel is due them.

Stress may cause health weaknesses to centre in the generative organs and/or the nervous system.

Questions?

Why does my name affect all aspects of my life?

The name represents the mental pattern which stimulates specific qualities of intelligence, either constructive or destructive. Destructive mental weaknesses have an impact on our lives, limiting our full potential. Some of us express the destructive qualities of being stubborn, self-centred, blunt, egotistical, or domineering. Others are limited by the destructive characteristics of indifference, passivity, or negativity. Qualities such as being argumentative, intolerant, and scattering have never created understanding or happiness. Being discontent, small-minded, chaotic, and moody all diminish our success and overall health. Whatever the negative qualities we express, we are undermining the harmony and balance of which we are capable.

These mental weaknesses are linked directly to the unbalanced name. By changing to a balanced name, a name harmonized to your inner potential, you can express greater positivity and happiness in your life.

A balanced name is the starting point in the process of developing mental freedom. As you become mentally free of destructive patterns of thought and habits, you will fulfil the greatest potential of mind: to express wisdom and harmony in your words, deeds, and thoughts, and bring your ideals into reality.

What does 2003 hold for you?

As nature expresses both negative and positive conditions in the depressions and plentiful seasons of nature, so does the human mind have its negative and positive conditions:  times when we are up and down in our thinking, when we tend more to depressed, and emotional thoughts and our analysis and good judgment is affected.

You should know the cyclic conditions affecting your thinking and judgment and you will know why you made poor decisions in the past and why you could never understand the cause of your mistakes.  Only now, as you look back to any bitter experience of the past, do you realize what vast changes can take place in your thinking--depending upon the time and conditions surrounding you at the time.  There are times when everything seems to come your way with the least effort, and at other times, despite all you do, nothing seems to work in your favour.  These are the conditions through which you are passing.

With knowledge of your personal cycle, or the nature of the hour, day, month, and year, the depressed conditions of the day will not affect you adversely. The point is to find the direct relationship of your mind to the hours, days, months, and years, to know whether your thoughts are positive or otherwise.  The nature of your decisions may well affect your entire life materially, emotionally, and through the health.

Quote of the Month

The universe cannot be read until we have learnt the language and become familiar with the characters in which it is written.  It is written in mathematical language, and the letters are triangles, circles, and other geometrical figures, without which means it is humanly impossible to comprehend a single word.

Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642)
