Marriage
© Excerpt from
Kabalarian Writings
Marriage is a natural expression of life--the union of
the positive and negative forces. On the physical
plane this power is demonstrated through sexual
awareness and physical procreation allowing for the
continuation of the human species. Although
essential, this is, however, the lesser of humanity's
purpose and potential. One's higher role is to
unify the positive and negative forces of life through
the development of mind, linking potential of reason,
measured as the birthpath potential, with the finite plane
of reality in form, i.e., exemplifying through living
example the universal principle of balanced, harmonious
expression of the union of the positive-negative forces
of physical-spiritual powers through a universal mental
concept.
Therefore, marriage is
not necessary for everyone--only those who choose to
experience and follow that pathway to individuality and
spiritual fulfilment. Marriage is a more challenging
role because it demands greater understanding, patience,
tolerance, and self-discipline successfully to pass the
test of the physical plane than if one remains
single. In marriage one has to merge with the
partner yet not lose one's individuality. In
walking the pathway of life hand in hand in marriage one
must submerge one's personal, individual interests to
the good of the whole, the marriage itself. In
many cases this means that neither partner is satisfied,
for personal interests remain frustratingly unsatisfied
or he or she is saddled with the responsibilities and
burdens of the marriage, i.e., children, debts,
partner's weaknesses, and other limitations.
If the marriage has no
greater purpose than to have children, a home, and a partner, there is not as great a challenge, although
many marriages fail even then because of personal
incompatibility. But when a marriage requires
continuous effort to grow towards a spiritual objective,
it often happens that one partner loses interest part
way along the path or cannot find within himself or
herself the required strength for self-discipline. That
person then becomes a drag on the unity of the marriage or even a
belligerent interference in the pattern of application
required for mental progress and spiritual attainment.
Harmony in marriage
requires full communication between partners, constant
sharing and giving to each other, the continuing
clarification and encouragement of the ideals and
practical application of the marriage, as well as
inspiration, affection, romance, and, above all,
love.

A flower and its
resultant seed pod is the completion of a cycle of
expression which had its origin within the power
contained in the seed from which the plant and flower
grew.
In life, spiritual
attainment is the result of the fulfilment of individual
purpose. The nucleus of all life is the reason for
being, which is the motivating power expressing through
the form of life to bring about the complete unfoldment
of the purpose for the expression of the reason for
being.
The power in the seed is
the central force throughout the entire lifespan of the
plant, intelligently causing the unfoldment of natural
growth. The beauty of the fulfilment was part of
the nucleus; and every stage of growth, a preparation
for the final culmination.
Within each person exists
a nucleus, or reason for being which, if given full
expression, will culminate as a highly developed
awareness of mind, conceiving and understanding the
power of Consciousness on its universal level. In
studentship, we must recognize the understanding of the
inner potential (birthpath) as the nucleus of our being,
and grasp the ideals of universality that will direct
the inner power of life along its path of growth towards
its ultimate attainment, that of Universal Conscious
expression.

ANDY, BRIAN, ELMER, MAC, LESLIE, PIERRE, RANDY,
STEVE, BENNETT, BECKER, SPENCER, WILLIAMS, HELEN, NITA,
VIRGINIA, BEVERLY, MYRNA, CYNTHIA, MERLE, BERNIE, SAMMY,
CALLY, KARIN, RAY, TINA, CAM
People using these names develop traits of
independence and positivity. They desire to assume
leadership roles where they can organize projects and be
responsible for the systematic flow of work. These names
make them very matter-of-fact, materialistic, and
practical, but extremely capable, efficient,
self-confident, and decisive. They will not tolerate
dominance by others, nor do they appreciate having their
independence curtailed. Being organized is important to
them and they would expect this same quality from others
who work with them. They could be demanding and shrewd
in money matters. If someone owes them money, they
appreciate being paid back promptly and in full, and yet
they can be very generous when they see the need. To be
successful, to have a good standard of living, and to be
a good provider are important to them, and are a
reflection of their ambitious, aggressive qualities.
They would neglect home duties at times to ensure
success in their business enterprises.
They are quite strong-willed, and do not readily
change their opinions. It is difficult for them to bend
their will to others. Misunderstandings have occurred
when others have regarded them to be forceful,
unsympathetic, and self-centred. They tend to be focused
on whatever they are doing and undaunted by obstacles.
They use originality and ingenuity to accomplish their
projects and they do enjoy a challenge.
They are matter-of-fact and very candid in their
expression. It is not easy for them to express emotional
sentiments and compliments that mean so much to
sensitive, idealistic people. It makes them feel awkward
and embarrassed. They know what is expected, but the
words do not come easily. They try to avoid those
situations and thus the impression is left with others
that they seem too prosaic and unfeeling. Others can
feel somewhat intimidated by their authoritative,
confident manner at times.
Unless they are a part of their background, they tend
not to be particularly interested in the arts or music
for their aesthetic value; but if drawn into these
fields, they would contemplate commercializing their
talents or they would consider how they could be turned
into lucrative businesses. Even when they were
youngsters, their thoughts turned to making money. It is
important that they guard against schemes that are for
increasing profit at the expense of others in some way.
They often think about how they could promote the
talents of others. They are loyal in friendships, and
not easily influenced by the opinions or actions of
others. They are dependable and unchangeable once they
have reached their decisions and committed themselves.
They do not tend to be temperamental and can handle a
great deal of responsibility.
Tension and stress affect the senses of the head such
as the eyes; headaches, sinus problems, or generative
troubles could arise.

Questions?
When changing your name,
at what age would the transition be most successful?
For example, what effect would it have on teenagers
at the time they are first exploring so many
aspects of their life?, i.e., forming
friendships, and when their self confidence and
self esteem is "under construction" so to
speak. Thanks!
The earlier the better!
Teen years are challenging at the best of times.
Peer pressure for young people to do
this, try that, be this, must make it confusing
at times for young people to know and to maintain their
ideals and
focus. Basic attitudes to life, levels of confidence and self-esteem can be
determined by an analysis of names and have been under
construction from the time parents name their
children. Some people (young and old!) cope well,
and others do not.
Names have positive and negative characteristics.
Many names over-emphasize the negative and create moods, lack of
confidence or lack of expression, cause unpredictability, create
selfish dominating traits or a personality that lacks individuality--the many weaknesses of
human nature. The longer we carry unbalanced
names that inhibit the natural expression of the potential within,
the harder it is to overcome the habits of negative
thinking.
It is important to understand one's purpose in
life as measured from the date of birth. An analysis reveals whether,
e.g., a person is meant to follow a practical
path or a creative path or a path working with people. The name,
which creates personality traits, must harmonize with
the potential; otherwise, people experience all the
frustration of being drawn into situations that are
opposite to how they truly feel within. A balanced
name harmonized to the natural path and a basic
understanding of purpose leads one to the areas of life that
will bring great happiness and contentment. Then,
there is no need to feel lesser or better than others. Imagine
knowing in your teen years where you could excel and
best serve life. You would know your inner path
and where to put your best efforts.
Names containing the qualities of confidence,
motivation, happiness, and reliability make it easier
for young people forming friendships and finding their
place in life. Young people with these types of names
are often drawn into
leadership roles. They have a natural ability to
communicate and guide others and often do well in their
studies, seemingly without effort. They do
not have the same
challenge with self-esteem nor are they as strongly
motivated by peer pressure.

Plan
with Confidence
© Kabalarian
writings
How many times have you
wished you had not invested, or bought something that
did not come up to expectations: how could you
tell? Naturally, by the cyclic time the
proposition was offered to you.
You are born into a
personal cycle that influences your feelings, thoughts,
and actions. Whether or not you are aware of these
patterns, they shape and affect conditions in your
life. It is important to know the nature of your
own personal cycle, for then you are better able to
plan, act, and make decisions with confidence to ensure
the success of your activities.
